Learn Behavior

Make smart design decisions sooner
and build products that truly move people.

WHY DO PEOPLE DO WHAT THEY DO?

We wrote Digital Behavioral Design to answer that question.

Today’s technology companies are delivering fantastic products that users are begging for.  However, users can’t take advantage because of barriers to changing their behavior.

In the book, we outline why people do what they do, and answer the question of how to change inherent behaviors using technology.

"If you want the behavioural design overview, this is your book. It may be small - but it is more yieldingly than most of the shelf space eaters in that area. We gave it to all our teams here at the DPS."

-Steffen Kastner, Head of Product Management @ Digital Product School, Munich

In Volume 1 of Digital Behavioral Design, we introduce Behavioral Design as a field and framework, with a special emphasis on habit formation. We review the ethics of Behavioral Design, and explore what techniques it offers us to change user behavior, with special focus on how the Cue-Action-Reward (CAR) Model induces habits.
